Brexit Party standing down in North Cornwall means the Conservatives are one and the same

Responding to the news that Nigel Farage's Brexit Party will not be standing a candidate in North Cornwall, Liberal Democrat candidate Danny Chambers says:

"Nigel Farage's announcement today demonstrates that the Brexit Party and Boris Johnson’s Conservatives are now one and the same – both taking advice from Donald Trump to work and campaign together. Both want to see an extreme Brexit that will damage our agricultural economy, public services and limit opportunities for future generations. More importantly than Brexit, the biggest issue of our time is climate change and, like Nigel Farage and Donald Trump, Scott Mann’s parliamentary voting record demonstrates that he does not take it seriously by consistently voting against measures to prevent it*.

“Not standing a Brexit Party candidate in North Cornwall demonstrates that both parties know that the Liberal Democrats are well positioned and campaigning tirelessly to take the North Cornwall seat from the Conservatives. This General Election is one that will shape the country we live in for years to come – an extreme version of Brexit is not what people in North Cornwall voted for.”
