Danny Chambers: Talking Mental Health

Danny Chambers took the opportunity to discuss the mental health challenges of the veterinary profession with the Financial Times recently.

As a trustee of a mental health charity, Danny has been campaigning for to raise awareness and support for those who struggle with mental health issues.

Danny was discussing some of the factors that lead vets to have a higher incidence of suicide, burnout and mental health issues than the national average. He explained to the Financial Times:

“The fact that everyone’s too exhausted to go for a run after work or visit friends at the weekend, you can end up in a lifestyle that’s quite unhealthy for your mental health,”

Danny constantly endeavors to promote better mental health and as Winchesters Liberal Democrat candidate he will try his upmost to support the NHS and it's fantastic work, but recognises that local health services are sadly stretched due to Conservative government policy.

Danny fully supports the Lib Dem policy of ensuring that mental health is treated with the same priority and physical health.
